I'm a daughter, wife, mother to two kids, a crafter, a baker, a project maker.
I started baking at a very young age, and recall my grandma telling me I created my first recipe at the age of two. I can still see her kitchen and remember smelling and tasting everything as I watched her work magic in the kitchen. My want and ability to cook, bake, craft and create was basically learned and absorbed from my immediate family members. Each of them having influence over who I am today. It also helps that I love to watch TV shows and visit websites about food and crafts, then challenge myself to recreate items that are featured. A bigger challenge is to recreate something for a fraction of what it would cost me to purchase it.
In addition from learning from my grandma, my mom is an excellent cook (and painter of walls). Her meals are never simple, always rivaling the best restuarant dishes. This tortured me growing up. Dinner would take 'forever', but now I understand why. Not only was she aiming to put something tasty on the table, she was creating it with love and patience. She also has a knack for catering parties and making the most simple occasion very memorable with good food and flavors. And my dad was in the hospitality industry, managing clubs (golf, not night) in our area and had great tricks and recipes from the chefs he worked with.

Last but not least, my grandpa. The man who could build, fix and create just about anything you could think of. Because of him I love putting things together - whether its furniture, shelving, or just drilling holes for a screw. I like the fact that I had my own power drill and complete tool box by my mid 20's. And knew how to use them correctly, and still use them on a weekly basis.
I love to try new recipes (both food and drink), make art projects with or for my two children, sew basic projects, and spend time with family and friends. I take pride on putting love in to everything I create, no matter how simple.
